Summer Night [Zero x Reader OneShot]

The breeze flowed gracefully in the air, blowing the white colored sand across the calm, lonely beach. The water rippled , glittering under the light of the full moon, portraying the most romantic site ever known to man.
You stood on the sand, allowing the cool grains to cover your feet slightly. Your cotton snow color dress grazed on the surface, following the same way as the wind only to be stopped by your wet body. Your (h/l)(h/c) hair soaked through the back of your garment, but you couldn't care less. All that was important was this once in a lifetime scenery. You've read about this specific place in books and often dreamed about being there, but never in your wildest dreams did you think it would turn into a reality at your school's summer vacation program.
You stare at what was before you what felt like eternity.
Suddenly, a hand whacked you behind your head, causing the comfort you were feeling to disappear in a flash.
"What the-," you turn around with a glare only to meet sad,familiar lavender eyes. The glare was replaced with shock the moment you made eye contact.
"Zero?"
Another gentle force hit your forehead.
"Idiot," he growled." Would you like to explain why you're daydreaming?!"
You turn your head to the side with a sigh. "You are not one to talk Zero. And it's not I get to see this everyday. It's a once in a lifetime thing."
"Whatever," he grumbled. "You're the one asking to be killed."
"I won't be killed! I have Deadly Daisy by my side," you proclaimed, patting one of your 7inch long daggers that hung on your thigh.
"It won't be any good if you keep jumping in the water and stare out into space."
You stared at the silver haired boy, but said nothing. There was no point in arguing. You've learned from many experiences that it leads to nowhere.
You and Zero have been friends ever since your parents walked away from you. We always understood each other and was there for each other. You had a huge crush on him, but you couldn't show it. Not when his eyes were on that no good Yuki.
You hated her. She didn't do anything to you, but she did something that was unforgivable. She tore Zero into pieces. And yet he still thinks about her. She did something that you could never fix without the help of Zero. And, being the stubborn man that he is, would not share those feelings with you.
"_________," Zero said again, waving his hand in front of your face.
"Wha-!"
"Talk about annoying. I said walk with me. Our shift is over."
I nodded and walked beside him. "Who's watching next?"
"Night class." The answer came out flat and dry.
"You mean Kaname and Yuk-"
Zero looked away." Don't mention those beasts to me. They're nothing but blood sucking monsters! Especially those two."
You were taken back by Zero's cold remark. Sure you agreed with him, but you couldn't help but feel sorry for him.
"Zero-" You reached out and touched his shoulder. "If you want to talk-"
"There's nothing to talk about," he growled, shrugging away your hand.
"Don't lie to me Zero. I could see that Yuki leaving is bothering you-"
Zero grabbed your shoulders and brought you close to his face." For once shut up. It has nothing to do with her."
"Then what is it?!"
"It's- "
Zero suddenly looked at you with horror embedded in his eyes. His hands were trembling fiercely and his breathing became rapid. You knew instantly what was wrong.
"__-_________," he gasped, trying to let me go."Get-away. Now."
His arms slowly and forcefully pulled you closer to him until your bodies were touching.
"__-__-_______."
He sound like he was begging. His eyes turned the color of blood as his arms wrapped around your waist.
You didn't move. You couldn't. Your friend was in pain; it was plain in his eyes. You wanted to help, even if it meant to go this far.
You saw two pointed fangs as Zero brought then to that sweet spot vampires loved so much, trying his best to resist. Only to fail. They made contact with your skin and you felt heat arousing through your entire body as it just lingered there, his breath against your neck, teasing you. His tongue swiped slowly at the vein. Seconds after, a quick pain at your neck made you gasp. You felt liquid slip down your collar bone as he hungerly drank that red substance he enjoyed yet hated so much. A deep blush crossed your cheeks at the sound of him drinking next to your ear, his grip on you tightening. His fingers were entwining with your hair, tipping your head to a side for better access.
It felt like hours you both were in that position until he licked your wound closed and pulled away to see your face. Your eyelids were half closed and you were panting slightly. He drank so much.
You looked at his sorrowful eyes. He let you go and turned away, wiping his blood stained lips. "______. I'm-I'm so-so sorry. I-"
You couldn't hold back. You grabbed his shoulder with the little strength you had and pressed your lips against his bloodied ones. He lost his balance from the sudden move and fell back; you falling on top of him with your legs on either side of his and your arms on either side of his head.
He held your hair and pulled your lips away from his. "What the hell-"
"Don't apologize Zero. If I wanted to leave I would have."
He was staring dead into your (e/c) eyes. "Why? Why did you allow me to hurt you like that? Why did you stay with a monster like me?!"
"Because you're not a monster. You're Zero Kiryu, my best friend. I won't take you as anything less."
He looked at you with wide eyes. Then he smirked." You really are an idiot."
"If being an idiot means to be with a friend, I don't give a damn what you call me."
Zero looked at you for a little while before pushing your face close to his, conntecting your lips with his.
